The Prepared Traveler:
Thoughts On Efficient Journeying

What Does Being Prepared Get You?

“Jimminy crickets, SLOW, I’ll still win the race, Or, “Oh, vacation, that’s right!

“Slow,” in fact, implies you are a planner. Consequently, you’re likely the prepared traveler who has meticulously mapped out every detail of your trip. This level of planning also indicates you may have higher expectations. Consequently, your vacation is poised to be exceptionally fulfilling because you’ve taken steps to ensure your happiness. You’ve even packed your favorite T-shirt and paired it with a bikini because you’re heading to a tropical destination! As you click “CONFIRM” for that chic beachfront condo, your thoughts may gravitate towards, “There better not be sand in my beachfront condo!” Please don’t misinterpret my perspective on this slow pace—it simply mirrors life itself. Your interactions, morals, values, and all the principles you stand for play a role in your trip planning.

Still not convinced? I invite you to ponder this the next time you plan at a leisurely pace, with the “I’ll still win the race” mindset, or the “Oh yeah, it’s vacation time” pace.

Now, if you’re not following along, let’s reel it back in. You don’t fuss about your eyes; you buy inexpensive sunglasses to shield your gaze from the sun, all the while your reflection in the lenses is gazing right back at you. Perhaps I got a little carried away there, but do you grasp the essence of what I’m conveying?”

Everyone Travels Differently

“I’ll still win the race” signifies you are a grazer. Typically, you begin by researching. Moreover, something piques your interest a bit more, prompting you to seek adventures; this aspect is more crucial to me than accommodations. Subsequently, you delve into calendar dates, pondering how to navigate your next adventure. It’s essential to remember our previous discussion about energy here.

As you continue to lead the race, you maintain a pace that shapes your travel behavior. I wonder how this looks for you? As a wonderer, I relish exploring the possibilities. After all, we’re all here for experiences, or we’d be deceased already, not perusing my musings.

“Oh, vacation, that’s right!” You may not be the prepared traveler, but you still relish the idea of travel. However, planning isn’t your forte. Your joy lies in going along for the ride. You’re the ultimate cheerleader, and often you travel with companions – a topic we’ll explore further. Group travelers, travel agents, property managers, and similar entities all revel in hosting individuals like you. It’s worth looking into. Again, another topic for consideration.

Not that you have to be in groups while traveling; you simply appreciate others planning for you. I support your choice either way. I’m curious about what this travel style adds to your life and how you navigate your journeys.

These various traveler styles, especially the prepared traveler, aren’t strictly one-dimensional; they often interchange or combine with others, depending on the circumstances. When traveling solo, you might handle all the planning, or you might adopt the “I’ll still win the race” and “Oh yeah, vacation, that’s right” approach. Do you catch my drift?

I could continue endlessly with this discussion. If you enjoyed discovering your traveler type, please click “CONFIRM” for next week’s episode.
